Biography

After assorted careers in home decorating, real estate, and restaurant ownership, Audrey did the one thing she’d always wanted to do: write a novel. She enrolled in a creative writing course at a local college and her writer’s instinct kicked in. For the final project, she decided to write a mystery, stretching the four double-spaced page assignment into twelve single-spaced pages. Since then she’s been creating thieves, liars, crackpots, and killers, and adores them all.

In August 2006, Audrey and a fellow mystery writer decided to form a Sisters in Crime chapter in upstate New York. They held the first meeting in October 2006 and it yielded 14 members. Now Mavens of Mayhem Upstate New York has 23 members and is still growing. Audrey is a past chapter president.
